Liquorice is the root of the Glycyrrhiza Glabra plant which grows natively in parts of Europe as well as India, and has been used both culinarily and therapeutically for centuries across multiple cultures.

Liquorice has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties and is helpful for stomach problems and other digestive issues.  It has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of Menopausal hot flushes.  It may also help with PMS and is a general tonic for female reproductive health.  Studies have shown that Liquorice is effective in the treatment of skin conditions such as eczema, and infections such as herpes, hepatitis and shingles.
