The word Triphala means ‘three fruits’ in Sanskrit and is a synergistic blend of 3 fruits native to India:

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica)

Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica)

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)

It is one of the most important formulas in Ayurveda and has been used for thousands of years to purify and cleanse and as a digestive tonic.

Polyherbal formulations are popularly used in Ayurvedic medicine, as it is believed that combining synergistic herbs results in a more powerful treatment than any one component taken alone.  This blend is believed to promote longevity and overall health and is particularly useful for gut and dental health.

Triphala is a source of Vitamin C and Omega 3 fatty acids and a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Triphala has been shown to reduce inflammation and damage caused by arthritis, and may protect against heart disease and certain cancers.  As well as being a natural laxative and digestive tonic, Triphala may also contribute to weight loss.
